Srđan is molecular biologist focused primarily on stress induced tissue remodeling. Conducted most of his research using zebrafish (Danio rerio) as a model organism, utilizing genetic engineering, advanced microscopy and heart cryoinjury. Interested in tissue processes during regeneration and the possibilities of their augmentation in cases where regeneration is either absent or insufficient for recovery of function. Maintains zebrafish colonies, designs and builds zebrafish housing systems. Keen on “do it yourself” approach, loves technical equipment and engineering, follows development of new technologies, often imagines himself in his workshop surrounded by tools and machines.
