One more PhD in our team!

We are proud to announce that our team member, Emilija Milošević, successfully defended her PhD thesis a few days ago. Her thesis, titled “Characterization of the ANKRD1 Gene and the Effect of Violacein on Rhabdomyosarcoma Cells In Vitro,” explores the role of the ANKRD1 gene in cellular functions, particularly its relevance in cancer biology. It also examines the therapeutic potential of violacein, a natural compound with promising anticancer properties, in treating rhabdomyosarcoma, an aggressive tumor of muscle tissue.

During her presentation, Emilija emphasized the significance of the ANKRD1 gene and the effectiveness of violacein in inhibiting cancer cell migration and promoting apoptosis. This research makes a significant contribution to the growing body of knowledge on gene-targeted therapy and the application of natural compounds in cancer treatment, offering hope for the improvement of therapy for rhabdomyosarcomas and other malignancies.

Congratulations, Dr. Milošević! We are proud of you!
