Jovana Jasnić, PhD

Jovana obtained her PhD in molecular biology in 2016 at the Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade. She started scientific career 12 years ago at IMGGE. Her general expertise is muscle molecular biology with focus on investigating the muscle regulatory proteins in different model organisms. She is very skillful in muscle tissue handling, immunohistochemistry and confocal microscopy. As a participant in a bilateral project with Germany, she was involved in the generation of mutant zebrafish using CRISPR/Cas9 methodology at Max Planck Institute for Heart and Lung Research. In addition to scientific work, she is involved in the transfer of knowledge, as evidenced by her mentorship of master and PhD thesis and participation in doctoral program in Molecular Biology, Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade as lecturer and demonstrator. Jovana genuinely believes that science is an interesting game that should be available to everyone, thus she is included in several programs and projects for popularization and promotion of science.
